6th of April would be a busy day. First, the-must-watch-or-will-die Code Geass R2 would be premiering! Next on the list would be Nabari no Ou – 隠の王 .
As many of you might have guessed – ninja! Ninja animes have always appealed to me. Yes, I am following Naruto (manga now, the pace of the anime and the filler just pissed me off), I watched Basilisk (mixed feeling about this), Kage Kara Mamoru (funny, mostly lame, boring, and the famous banana song), Ninja Scroll (er.. for some reasons, I just cannot get myself to finish it), Flame of Recca, Ninja Mono …etc. So far, I would say that there is not one that I really really like, but after watching the PV for Nabari no Ou, I am definitely going to watch this one.
The music is just so awesome! I am drawn in instantly (part of the reason I decided that this is not to be missed =P)! Michiru Oshima, who also did the music for Full Metal Alchemist, would be handling the music for this. Director Kunihisa Sugishima has plenty of experience with action anime and also did the storyboard for some of the Code Geass episodes. And Rie Kugimiya will be playing the main character Miharu!
Rokujou Miharu posses a hijustu (hidden technique) inside of him. This hijustu is the power of creation. Many ninja clans are seeking it as the one who posesses it becomes the ruler of the ninja world. Rokujou’s classmate Kouichi started a nindou (忍道, “Way of the Ninja”) club at school with Kumohira, his English teacher. Both Kouichi and Kumohira are secretly ninjas. They tried to persuade Rokujou to join the ninjustu club. At first, he was reluctant, but after being attacked by group of ninjas trying to get his hijutsu, he joins. He must become the Ruler of Nabari in order to survive.
School-Ninja kind of plot, pretty normal maybe. Would look forward to the first episode, hopefully it would be something impressive enough to make me pick up the series. The manga is still going on, I would certainly hope that it would not follow the footstep of Naruto.
